Taneesha also participated in her school\u2019s dance program in freshmen and sophomore year but could not junior year due to schedule conflicts with sports. She is on the leadership council for the Interact Club, a member of the Partners in Health Engage club, a first soprano in her choir, a member of the Peer Educators which she is leading Andy rebuilding in senior year, and was the JV Volleyball Captain this past fall. In her free time, Taneesha enjoys drawing, coloring, crocheting, spending time outside, sketching, gardening, organizing and reorganizing items in her house.\n\n<\/p><p style=\"top:439px;left:48px;text-align:initial;font-weight:300;font-style:normal;text-decoration:none;font-family:Poppins;color:#000000;width:690px;line-height:20px;font-size:14px;white-space:normal;\" class=\"ls-l\" data-ls=\"showinfo:1;fadein:false;\">\n\nTaneesha is very excited to participated in the Advanced Medical and Public Health Summit this summer because beforehand she was under the impression that she would not be able to this summer. Taneesha is extremely enthusiastic about medicine and dreams on becoming a Pediatric Cardiac Surgeon. She hopes to take the knowledge from this program and be able to build more to develop a sturdy understanding of different areas within Medicine to create a diversified perspective.<\/p><a style=\"\" She is a full-time housewife and her husband is an OKADA rider, which is a person who uses a motorcycle to provide people with transportation. Because of Covid-19, he has lost his job because of government restrictions regarding OKADA riding. Fa'iza lives in a rented one-room clay home with her family. The whole family sleeps in a mosquito treated net at night. \n\n<\/p><p style=\"top:281px;left:18px;text-align:left;font-weight:400;font-style:normal;text-decoration:none;font-size:18px;font-family:Montserrat;line-height:22px;color:#000000;width:1250px;white-space:normal;\" class=\"ls-l\">Fatima presented with symptoms of intermittent fever, headache, loss of appetite, and weakness, so I requested that the doctor do a blood smear. The blood smear came back with two positives, which indicated a mild case of malaria. I also asked if the patient was experiencing symptoms of anemia. After assessing the patient's anemia-related symptoms and running a blood smear, I determined the patient had a severe case of anemia.<\/p><p style=\"top:384px;left:20px;text-align:left;font-weight:400;font-style:normal;text-decoration:none;font-size:18px;font-family:Montserrat;line-height:22px;color:#000000;width:1250px;white-space:normal;\" class=\"ls-l\">Fatima was ultimately diagnosed with a complicated case of malaria.
