As co-president of NHD and HOSA club, Jyotika loves to foster a competitive spirit. She serves as editor-in-chief of her school\u2019s newspaper, giving writers a platform for their voices. Jyotika also wants individuals from around the world to have the opportunity to reach their full potential. Jyotika is a part of the Student Advisory Board for the college task manager Comet and an ambassador in the World Literacy Foundation. She is also a Lausanne student ambassador. Originally from South Africa, Jyotika has been fortunate to school and live in Africa, Europe, and North America, acquiring a global mindset that no regular curriculum can offer. Jyotika hopes to enter the medical field and achieve her lifelong dream of helping those in need of medical assistance by becoming a doctor and pursuing research on tropical diseases.<\/p><a Supervised by a doctor in Nigeria, I examined &amp; diagnosed my patient using my diagnostic training on the top 4 leading causes of death in Nigeria; malaria, typhoid fever, nutritional anemia, &amp; acute respiratory infections (ARI).<\/p><p style=\"top:458px;left:88px;text-align:left;font-weight:300;font-style:normal;text-decoration:none;font-size:16px;font-family:Montserrat;line-height:20px;color:#000000;width:520px;white-space:normal;\" class=\"ls-l ls-text-layer\" data-ls=\"position:relative;\">These patients were locals from Bauchi State that were all ill and would normally not be able to afford medical treatment as they earn $1.25 a day or less. She had a heart rate of 84 beats per minutes. Additionally, Hauwa presented with a fever of 37.3 degrees celsius, abdominal pain, and headache.<\/p><p style=\"top:188px;left:102px;text-align:left;font-weight:300;font-style:normal;text-decoration:none;font-size:16px;font-family:Montserrat;line-height:20px;color:#000000;width:1080px;white-space:normal;\" class=\"ls-l ls-text-layer\" data-ls=\"position:relative;\">After running the appropriate diagnostic tests, I concluded that Hauwa was suffering from malaria. To treat the malaria, I prescribed CoArtem.<\/p><p style=\"top:244px;left:102px;text-align:left;font-weight:300;font-style:normal;text-decoration:none;font-size:16px;font-family:Montserrat;line-height:20px;color:#000000;width:1080px;white-space:normal;\" class=\"ls-l ls-text-layer\" data-ls=\"position:relative;\">In addition to this treatment, I recommended various methods of prevention. To prevent future cases of malaria, I suggested that the patient avoid mosquito bites through clothing, like long sleeves and pants, mosquito nets, and malaria prevention drugs, if
