Austin is most excited for the opportunity to explore how business plans are developed and he looks forward to taking on the challenges of creating a business model alongside other students. <\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p style=\"font-size: 14px; font-style: normal; font-weight: 200;\">Austin is a rising Junior at the Bullis School in Potomac Maryland and a contributing member to the school community where he is inspired to become a critical thinker, lifelong learner, and impactful global citizen. Austin has been an honor roll student and has served in a leadership capacity on the Bullis Baseball team. For Austin, baseball is more than just a sport, it has grown him on and off the field, requiring increased organization, time-management, grit, and perseverance. During his first year as a high school baseball player, Austin was honored for his dedication and growth with a Spring Athletics award. Austin is engaged in growth outside of his school community. He became a member of the ConnectDMV program as a freshman. The following year Austin applied for and was appointed Scholar Ambassador for ConnectDMV, working with the group toward the mission of closing the opportunity gap for students of color at local independent schools. Lastly, he is a member of the Montgomery County TeenWorks Program where he can participate in various community volunteer opportunities where is more likely to get involved in projects that are hands-on.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p style=\"font-size: 14px; font-style: normal; font-weight: 200;\">Austin\u2019s interest in business has led him to courses in Entrepreneurship Principles, Entrepreneurship Accounting Principles, and Personal Finance.  This summer, Austin aspires to grow as a public speaker, explore the complexities of business in the developing world, and contribute to the growth of a global start-up.      <div class=\"business-content-para\">\r\n                    <p>Mansur\u2019s passion for auto repair began in his childhood. He has always been fascinated by cars, how they run, and their maintenance and care. This led him to become an apprentice for two different auto repair shops in order to gain the knowledge needed to start his own. He was an apprentice for nine years before starting freelance work on his own for the past four years. He has enjoyed the work but wants to establish a business to formalize his repair process and customer procedures. Mansur believes that one never stops learning and hopes to continue improving on the technical aspects of his business. He plans to continue attending workshops and learning from colleagues.\r\n<\/p>\r\n<p>Mansur believes that in any successful business venture, there will be some issues along the way which may hinder the business from developing. For himself, he worries about the high cost of working materials, which has been a problem for his customers in the past.  For any successful venture, there are obstacles that hinder business development. Firstly, acquiring reliable and affordable spare parts can be difficult due to limited local suppliers and reliance on imports, which can lead to delays and increased costs. Secondly, the skilled labor shortage poses a significant hurdle, as finding qualified mechanics and technicians proficient in modern automotive technologies is challenging. Mansur ensures he takes care of his newly married wife's basic needs and supports his parents with funds for their food and medical expenses.<\/p>\r\n\r\n<p>Every day, he diligently goes out for auto repair services to earn income to support his family and other relatives. His business is called Mansur A.S. Workshop where Mansur will fix cars by providing engine repair, engine overhaul, wheel balancing, and wheel repair services. In addition to these services, Mansur will be making additional profit by accounting for the auto spare parts he will be using to perform those services.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"has-custom-lineheight\" style=\"font-size:17px;font-style:normal;font-weight:300;line-height:1.3\">Some problems are Mansur\u2019s lack of education,\r\ntraffic congestion around the location, visibility in the\r\nmarket, and the high cost of products. We discussed critical topics including investments, international trade, and human rights. <\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"has-custom-lineheight\" style=\"font-size:17px;font-style:normal;font-weight:300;line-height:1.2\">While touring the embassy, I learned about the wide range of policy issues and gained a better understanding of the embassy\u2019s role in international development through sustainable and inclusive initiatives. <\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"has-custom-lineheight\" style=\"font-size:17px;font-style:normal;font-weight:300;line-height:1.2\">My visit to the Embassy of Lebanon was not only educational, but inspiring. She provided us with a crash course in advertising and marketing, in which we learned essential components of an effective marketing campaign.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p class=\"has-custom-lineheight\" style=\"font-size:17px;font-style:normal;font-weight:300;line-height:1.2\">Our work with Ms. Brooks was essential in preparing us for our culminating pitch deck presentation.
