Digital Capabilities & Global Ethics Internship
Explore multidisciplinary perspectives
The Program
The Virtual Digital Capabilities & Global Ethics Internship is a first-of-its-kind transnational collaboration between Leadership Initiatives, Georgetown University, and Coburg University of Applied Sciences & Arts. Throughout the internship, participants learn from subject matter experts from around the globe to develop essential competencies in leadership resilience, adaptation, critical thinking, and ethical decision-making.
The Digital Capabilities & Global Ethics Internship links together multidisciplinary perspectives including health promotion, ethics, cultural comprehension, neurocognition, aesthetics, communications, and more to create sustainable leaders with the stamina to not only cope, but thrive, in the dynamic environments of modernity.
Interns apply their understanding to create a final capstone project and apply their new competencies to be the leaders of the future.
For their capstone, students will design and present a project related to future skills that will be reviewed by a panel of international subject matter experts.
Capstone Project
Students will work directly with leading experts from Georgetown University, Coburg University of Applied Sciences & Arts, and international businesses & organizations in the fields of brain science & psychology, ethics, integrative aesthetics, global law, international relations, and more.
International Experts
Students will participate in demonstrations of neurocognitive science, ethics, big data, and computational systems and methods; cultural conceptualization & embeddedness; neurocognition and aesthetics; and exploring ever-changing psycho-spiritual environments.

Program Highlights
Julius Ebert
Coburg University 2022
Automation and Robotics | 2021 Leadership Initiiatives Intern
"Digital skills seem to be tied to essentially everything. It is just fascinating how many things we do daily are tied to the way our brain works or doesn't work and how much there is to be learned about it and how that knowledge is essentially the basis of everything we are and do."
Nina Straßburg
Coburg University 2022
Interior Design | 2021 Leadership Initiiatives Intern
"My favorite experience was getting to learn so much about neuroscience and its’ adjacent fields with so many insider perspectives, but most importantly getting it to connect with personal experiences and previously acquired knowledge. Making sense of the world and seeing how interconnected it is the most fascinating thing for me."
