Chloe Rojas is very excited to be joining the Advanced Medical Neuroscience Internship this summer. She is extremely grateful to the Leadership Initiatives team for this opportunity to grow more and find out her interests as she gets closer to deciding a major for college. Her interest in neuroscience sparked when she partook in an activity during the Public Health Internship last summer with LI.

As a rising senior at The Mary Louis Academy, Chloe is a dedicated honor roll student who is enrolled in both Advanced Placement and Honor courses. Currently, Chloe is a part of her school’s premed program, which navigates her on the right path to taking the courses that would set her up for a good start when she begins college. She is involved in student government and has held different roles over her past years in high school. Additionally, Chloe is Vice President of the Spanish club where she works alongside another student to advocate for many underrepresented Hispanic-Indigenous groups. Outside of school, Chloe coaches for her parish’s youth basketball team. She assistant coaches for both the 8th grade and 5th grade girls team; her 8th grade team won the CYO Diocesan championship! She volunteers a lot of her time to her local food pantry, where she distributes and packages boxes of food for her community.

Chloe is looking forward to being able to make an impact on the world around her and hopes that she will be able to help make a positive impact on the lives of people across the world. She was very inspired by the Public Health Internship she did with LI, and knew that coming back would be perfect for her. Chloe is looking forward to getting to know her peers from across the world. Chloe’s main goal is to become a doctor in the future and hopes this program will give her insight on what her true passion is in the medical field.

We began working directly with communities in 2003 at a grassroots level, where we believe development has the greatest impact. It is in these communities where women, men, and youth can discover their voice, assert their rights, and mobilize action to achieve their aspirations.
