Intern with the most powerful political advocacy groups in the world

The Program

The Public Policy & Political Action Internship is a first-of-its-kind accelerated internship that allows motivated high school students to intern with a political advocacy group on an active campaign to affect ongoing legislation. Campaigns are selected by advocacy groups in Washington D.C. where clients are in need of additional resources for their policy campaigns.

Throughout their work with the advocacy group, interns will work to advance legislative goals, conduct political and grassroots campaigns, lobby the US Government, assist with campaign finance decision-making, create social media advertisements, and conduct campaign marketing. During the internship, students will advocate for their clients on Capitol Hill to senators, congressmen, and congressional leaders.

On the final day, internship teams will propose how to spend a real corporate grant for their lobbying objectives to leading U.S. political operatives. The top teams will have their ideas funded and put into practice by their advocacy group.

Interns advocate for their clients on Capitol Hill and meet with Senators, Representatives, and Congressional leaders. Interns directly impact legislative policy priorities facing their clients and the nation by advocating for policy change.

Congressional Advocacy

Interns gain real-world experience assisting advocacy experts with legislative writing, research, and media campaign preparation on a leading issue facing the nation. Interns will work directly with experts from leading political campaigns, congressional officers, and U.S. political leaders.

Work With Experts

Participants intern for a top political advocacy firm learning from the nation’s leading political experts to develop an advocacy campaign. Interns gain experience in legislative campaigns to discover what a future in the field of advocacy holds for them.

2023 Criminal Law & Trial Internship

"My biggest accomplishment was the direct examination of the client. I am also super proud of successfully advocating for an issue related to the case in a Congressional Meeting. It was so cool reading his real case files and interesting analyzing all aspects of it. With Brandi receiving updates about the case during the week, everything felt very real."
