




The Marshall Bailly Memorial Scholarship is a tribute to the remarkable life and legacy of a beloved father, grandfather, and dedicated educator. Senior’s profound impact on the lives of those he touched will forever be remembered through this scholarship.
He was a living embodiment of kindness, gentleness, and the unwavering belief in the goodness of humanity. His infectious laughter was a testament to his joyous spirit and served as a source of warmth and comfort to all who had the privilege of knowing him.
One of Marshall's most remarkable qualities was his unwavering positivity. He never uttered a negative word about anyone and lived by the philosophy of spreading love and goodwill. His legacy serves as a reminder to cherish every moment, to be kind to one another, and to approach life with a positive and open heart.
Graduating from Eastern Michigan University in 1974, Marshall embarked on a fulfilling journey as an educator. His passion for teaching led him to Dowagiac Union Schools, where he dedicated nearly four decades to shaping young minds. Marshall not only taught sixth grade but also coached math meet teams and high school tennis, leaving an enduring impact on countless young athletes and students alike.
Senior played a pivotal role in shaping the Summer Internship Program. His passion for providing high school students with new opportunities and hands-on learning experiences was unparalleled, as he believed it would lead young people to their true calling. Marshall's dedication to fostering a sense of community and networking among students has left an indelible mark on the Leadership Initiatives Programs.
He was a mentor and friend and was known to everyone at the Summer Internship Programs just as “Senior.”

The Marshall Bailly “Senior” Memorial Scholarship aims to continue Marshall's legacy by offering a full scholarship for the Advanced Medical & Public Health Internship. This scholarship is designed to support and empower high school students who share Marshall's commitment to excellence, hands-on learning, and community building, and want to make a difference in the lives of others.
Eligibility:
Active HOSA Members, from rising freshmen to graduating seniors in high school
Deadline:
The Marshall Bailly “Senior” Memorial Scholarship applications must be received by December 5th, 2025. All scholarship recipients will be announced on January 15th, 2025.
Scholarship Awards:
The Marshall Bailly “Senior” Memorial Scholarship will award one full scholarship to attend the Advanced Medical & Public Health Internship for one of the following sessions:
• June 28th - July 4th, 2026
• July 5th – July 11th, 2026
• July 19th – July 25th, 2026
• July 12th – July 18th, 2026
• July 26th – August 1st, 2026
The Marshall Bailly “Senior” Memorial Scholarship Fund will also award ten partial scholarships.
