Staffing FAQ

Attend two Leadership Initiatives Summer Internship Programs. You can attend your second program the same summer you staff your first program. (Waived if graduated from high school)

You must be 16 years old by June 28th, 2026 to work as a Teaching Assistant.

You must be 15 years old by June 28th, 2026 to work on the Operations Team.

Ability to mentor and inspire peers.

Adaptability to work in a dynamic environment and willingness to work long hours.

Handling challenging situations with calmness.

All staff members receive free housing and food for the duration of their summer contract.

First year staff work in an unpaid leadership role, and will receive 60 hours of community service for a one-week staff position. Returning staff are paid based on the number of weeks worked. College staff additionally receive assistance in their graduate school applications and test prep.

Gain experience in mentoring, leadership, and event logistics.

Opportunity to impact students’ lives and contribute to their leadership development.

Network with fellow TAs, program staff, and industry professionals.

Travel compensation is available for returning staff members. Many of our new staff choose to work the week directly following their participation in an internship as staff travel is not included for during their first year. 

Work closely with vendors, suppliers, and partners to ensure timely delivery of resources, materials, and equipment.

Provide on-site support during program activities, assisting with check-ins, participant queries, and problem resolution.

Assist in the coordination of meals, snacks, and refreshments for program participants.

Collaborate with the Operations Manager to plan, coordinate, and execute logistics for all aspects of the summer internship program.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including mentors, educators, and administrative staff, to ensure a cohesive and successful program.

Facilitate group discussions and mentorship sessions to promote collaboration and open communication.

Lead academic and leadership sessions related to your field, helping students develop a diverse skill set.

Assist with logistical aspects of the program and collaborate with administrative staff and facilitators.

Reside in the dormitory as a Resident Advisor, offering guidance and support outside of the classroom.

Chaperone off-campus trips and social activities,ensuring student safety and engagement
